Jakarta – Candidate number 2 for president, Prabowo Subianto, said that in principle, a victory should not hurt others.
Prabowo said this when he was a guest on Deddy Corbuzier’s podcast, which aired on the YouTube channel @Deddy Corbuzier, on Tuesday (13/2).
Prabowo then quoted one of the Javanese philosophies, ‘Menang tanpo ngasorake’. It means, ‘Winning without degrading’.
He said this because he believes that there are still many people who do not care about others, in order to achieve victory/success.
“Sometimes, the western philosophy is a bit different. Because from what I see, the western philosophy is that the important thing is success. It doesn’t matter how you win, as long as you win,” said Prabowo.
“In order to achieve victory for us, our side, ourselves, our family, (sometimes) we hurt many people. There is a Javanese philosophy, ‘Menang tanpo ngasorake’. ‘Winning without degrading (hurting)’. That is what we must hold on to,” he stressed.
Prabowo added that with this principle, we will live without a grudge against others. Life, he said, must have principles as embraced by the warriors and knights. They live by holding fast to the values of honesty, justice, and a commitment to help the weak and oppressed parties.
“If in the philosophy of the warriors, my teachers taught me (that) we must not hold a grudge. A warrior is brave. Brave to defend the truth, justice, honesty,” he said.
“Defending the weak, the poor, and the oppressed. That is a knight. Defending must be brave, but must not hate and must not hold a grudge,” concluded Prabowo. (SENOPATI)
